The paintings in my show entitled "Windows" are all inspired by the word "window" in its various physical and metaphorical meanings, from "an opening in the wall or roof of a building", to "Eyes are the windows of the soul".

All works are painted in either acrylics or encaustics. The acrylics are quite literally of windows one can see around Montgomery, Alabama -- except one, "Windows in Moorish Style", seen on a trip to Venice, Italy. My encaustics are abstractions freely interpreting "windows" in its metaphorical contexts.

As in all my work the emphasis is on concept and composition, and on the textural and expressive qualities of the medium.
